Technical Writer
Gallium’s products are used by national defense agencies and system integrators worldwide to design develop and deliver the Human-System Interface (HSI) for high performance Military Command and Control and Air Traffic Control display applications.

Gallium is recruiting for a Technical Writer.
This position is in Ottawa, Canada.
The successful candidate will be part of a development team currently bringing to market a new product offering. You will lead the effort to create the end-user documentation including: a tutorial, reference application, installation guide and training course materials. Our InterMAPhics product is an Object-Oriented toolkit used to develop the 2D/3D graphical user display in mission-critical Defense Command & Control and Air Traffic Control systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
Writing technical documentation for use by software developers and system integrators, including:
Training Tutorials
Reference Application Guide
Installation Procedures Guide
Training Course materials
Meeting with peers for the purpose of:
Gathering required information
Peer reviews
REQUIREMENTS
3+ years writing Technical Documentation
5+ years of experience in the software industry (including student or co-op experience).
Excellent English written, oral, presentation and interpersonal skills
Experience with preparing IT training courses
Highly motivated, Team player
Ability to meet deadlines
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with source control software
Willingness to travel occasionally
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Experience with the following tools, products and technologies are considered an asset:
Programming experience (C++, Java)
Training Course delivery experience
Data Distribution Service (DDS) knowledge
Experience with command & control (C2), air traffic control (ATC), mapping, GIS, or other graphical applications
Ability to obtain a Canadian or NATO security clearance
